MedAid delivers two pottery kilns to St Leo the Great house for returned prisoners

On the 22nd June, MedAid Turstees Nicholas and Gavin were delighted to present two high quality Nabotherm pottery kilns to the Unbroken hospital for use in art therapy. Up to 30 returned prisoners of war live or spend the day in the St Leo the Great house on the hospital grounds at Unbroken in Lviv. Head of Art therapy Irina told us that she provides 20 lessons a week across the range of art therapies including painting, and now pottery. When we last visited in October we found a pottery wheel but no kilns, so we appealed to MedAid donors and other friends and raised the necessary funds by Christmas. It was great to see the kilns which are already in action and we viewed the first products. Head of Mental Health Oleg told us that the kilns are a vital new resource in the rehabilitation of POWs, many of whom have suffered from torture.
